Severe Weather Update

Early release for non-essential staff today, effective [time]

Due to worsening severe weather conditions, non-essential staff are being released early today. Employee safety is our priority, and we want everyone who is able to leave safely to do so with enough time to travel carefully.

Please continue to monitor company communications for any updates about tomorrow, your next shift, or additional weather-related changes.

Non-essential staff

Please wrap up any immediate tasks, secure your workspace, and notify your manager before leaving.

If you are able to continue work remotely, please follow your team’s normal guidance after you arrive safely.

Essential on-site staff

Essential and on-site personnel are asked to remain on duty as scheduled unless otherwise directed by a supervisor.

Supervisors will continue to assess conditions and provide updates if staffing or safety needs change.

Why roles are being handled differently

The essential/on-site designation is based on roles required to maintain critical operations, safety, facilities, customer support, or business continuity during weather events. It is not a reflection of the value, importance, or contribution of any individual employee or team.

Manager and employee guidance

Managers should confirm coverage, coordinate any urgent handoffs, and address individual safety concerns. Any employee with immediate travel or safety concerns should speak with their supervisor right away.

Thank you to everyone for your flexibility, cooperation, and attention to safety. We especially appreciate our essential and on-site staff who are remaining in place to support critical needs during the severe weather.

Please prioritize safety and use good judgment while traveling. Updates will be shared through [emergency contact/update channel].

Thank you, [Leadership/HR/Operations Team]
