As temperatures drop, we want to support employees who commute in winter weather or work in colder, drafty, or unheated areas. The following dress code adjustments are intended to help everyone stay comfortable, safe, and appropriately prepared while maintaining a professional workplace environment.

|
|
|
Employees may wear appropriate coats, jackets, hats, scarves, and gloves while commuting and in colder work areas where needed.
|
|
|
For customer-facing, safety-sensitive, or operational roles, please follow any role-specific uniform, visibility, PPE, or safety requirements.
|
|
|
|
Neat, work-appropriate layers such as sweaters, cardigans, fleece layers, thermal tops, and similar cold-weather items are permitted.
|
|
|
Layers should not interfere with job duties, uniforms, required PPE, machine operation, food safety, or other workplace safety standards.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Weather-appropriate boots are allowed for commuting, icy sidewalks, wet conditions, and slippery parking areas. Please choose footwear with appropriate traction and use caution when walking in winter conditions.
|
|
|
Employees may change into regular work shoes once onsite if required by their role, department standards, or safety requirements.
|
|
|

Colder or unheated work areas
|
|
|
Employees assigned to colder spaces may use additional layers or approved cold-weather gear as needed. This includes areas that are unheated, drafty, exposed to frequent door openings, or otherwise difficult to keep warm.

|
If conditions make it difficult to work comfortably or safely, please speak with your manager so we can review options and address concerns appropriately.

Safety and professionalism still apply
|
|
|
Cold-weather adjustments should remain clean, safe, and appropriate for the workplace. Hygiene, uniform, PPE, department, and safety requirements remain in effect.
|
|
|
Please use good judgment and choose clothing that helps you stay warm without creating hazards or interfering with work responsibilities.
|
|
|
|
|
|
